The children always carry the enthusiasm of bringing in change within their surroundingsand hence, we conducted awareness programs in various schools in villages of Atta, Morna and Raipur with a total of around 800 students of various classes. We conducted events with a motive to aware the school children on the topic of importance of solid waste management with respect to their school and home and at some schools, we also distributed the plants among the school students to promote cleanliness and greenery in their surrounding environment.The event started with making the students aware of solid waste and explaining the importance of source segregation to them. We asked them to start segregating the waste in their own houses and prepare the compost from segregated wet waste.We demonstrated the waste segregation activity by using 2 coloured bins: green and blue for wet and dry waste respectively and also demonstrated them on how to make compost at their homes.
