On the occasion of WED, HCL Foundation organized a week long campaign to bring together the city in working towards the waste management issues that the city has been dealing with and raise awareness about no littering.
Three cleanliness drives took place in Bhakhtawarpur and Raipur to engage with volunteers and residents. The mega event was hosted on the eve of Environment Day i.e. 4th of June 2019 with the objective to highlight, celebrate, and contribute towards cleaning the city and making it litter free. Week long cleanliness drives started with first cleanliness drive in Bhakhtawarpur on 28th May 2019, where 104 volunteers cleared 2 tons of waste. The second cleanliness drive took place on 30th May 2019 in Raipur village where 113 volunteers cleared 3 tons of waste within a few hours. The last cleanliness drive was done on 1st June 2019 with a Bike rally to raise awareness for no littering, 116 volunteers participated and cleared 2 tons of garbage.
Other than this to acknowledge the efforts of residents or groups who have made efforts to clean any part of the Noida City, we organized the Clean Noida Story Challenge. In two weeks we received 11 inspiring stories. After intensive evaluation 3 stories were chosen to be awarded during the event. (1) SAAPH-Richa Singh (2) TREE-Shail Mathur (3) NOFFA-Rajiva Singh.
HCL Foundation celebrated the World Environment Day on 4th June 2019 and organized multiple activities to engage the audience and raise awareness about No Littering.
